Episode 6: Safe Spaces in an Un-Safe World: Are Safe Spaces Ill-Equipping Our Students to Deal with the Real World?

According to a Gallup poll, 78% of college students surveyed across 32 college campuses stated that they believe their college campuses should strive to create an open environment, where they would be exposed to a range of speech and views. 22% of those students noted that colleges should prohibit biased or offensive speech, while 69% favored limitations on speech when it came to language that was deliberately upsetting to some groups. In this episode, we explore the concept of free speech zones, safe spaces and our thoughts on the unintended consequences of policy to promote or restrict either.
